OWS held their last spring training session on Friday with a march through the Wall Street district and picket lines in front of Chase Bank, Trinity Church and a building housing the MTA. They then converged on Wall Street to ring the peoples bell and numerous arrests were made when people tried laying down on the sidewalks.

In the midst of the half dozen arrests that had just gone down the Occupiers on Wall Street broke into dance. The NYPD responded by threatening a guitarist who was playing with arrest if he didn’t stop playing music.
I think this would make a great May First poster.

Occupier standing in front of Federal Hall across from the New York Stock Exchange during their fight to keep their right according to a judge to sleep on Wall Street. The quote on the sign reads;
“The end of democracy and the defeat of the American Revolution will occur when government falls into the hands of lending institutions and moneyed incorporations.” — Thomas Jefferson
And before anyone goes nuts, it’s not an exact quote, it’s a variation of this quote;
“The country is headed toward a single and splendid government of an aristocracy founded on banking institutions and moneyed incorporations and if this tendency continues it will be the end of freedom and democracy, the few will be ruling…I hope we shall…crush in its birth the aristocracy of our moneyed corporations which dare already to challenge our government to trial and bid defiance to the laws of our country. I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies.”
Lots of quotes floating around out there that are either completely false or half truths but because they’re on the Internets it makes them true. So, I like to check them out and this one is pretty close to what was originally said except it’s snips of different conversations but don’t believe me just because this is on the Internets. Even with it not being an exact quote it’s still a stern warning to heed that our founding fathers were fearful of the banks and corporations.
